From the time I was a small child, I've always had a passion for the arts. I loved drawing, coloring, and entering art contests. I won most of them, and that encouraged me to keep going. My friends even enjoyed watching me draw, and would buy or trade for my work. So as you can see, my career was predestined!

Although I've experimented with multiple art mediums throughout my life, I specialize in oils; painting portraiture, large wall murals, fantasy art, landscapes, animals, etc. My education includes: receiving the “Sterling Scholar Award” for art, and graduating with High Honors in high school, and then furthering my education by pursuing my studies through scholarship at Utah Valley, and Weber State Universities. I have also illustrated three published children’s books: “No One is More Wonderful Than You Are” by Nita Epoc, as well as, “Santa’s New Job” and “Beating the Bully”, by Michael J. McLelland. 

Along with illustrating Children’s books, I have completed several commissioned jobs, painting portraiture and large wall murals for clients. The human subjects I paint reflect the style of “Norman Rockwell”, my childhood hero. I love how he captures emotion and expression with every character, so I've learned to do the same. I also enjoy painting still life; the more reflective an object, the better! I challenge myself by experimenting with multiple subjects and scenery; never limiting myself to just “one” style.

 In addition to painting, I have taught private lessons to hundreds of children of all ages over a 15 year period. Many of my students have also pursued art, receiving multiple awards and scholarships in school and local art shows, and have created their own careers in art.

As passionate as I am about art, I also have a fulfilling life beyond my work. I am a wife of nearly 21-years to an amazing husband, and mother to our four beautiful children. I enjoy traveling, boating, wake boarding, hiking, exercising, gardening, cooking and spending quality time with my family.

While attending the art program at UVU, I grew to love a quote by the famous Bliss Carman, given to me by one of my favorite art professors, who later passed away. I have since, applied this quote to every aspect of my life... 

"Set me a task in which I can put something of my very self, and it is a task no longer; it is joy, it is art.”– Bliss Carman
