This painting is one of my illustrations from the book, "Beating the Bully", I love this particular painting because of the deep meaning behind it. This boy is battling his internal struggle from lack of confidence. His acceptance from the outside world (his peers at school), is his mission. He is doing everything he can to change who he is, physically and mentally to fit in. Why do we bully ourselves? How much happier would we all be if we talked positively to ourselves, and accepted who we are? My message through this painting is that true happiness is found when we first "Beat the Bully Within". It is then that we discover our true selves and our potential. And others will then, naturally gravitate to us with that new-found confidence.
