This painting is very near and dear to my heart. When I illustrated the book, "Santa's New Job", by: the late Michael J. McLelland, I had my very own Grandpa (who has since passed away), model as Santa for me! We decorated the author's home for Christmas in July, dressed up my Grandpa in all of the Santa gear (rented from Hale Center Theater), and had several photo sessions in multiple locations throughout Utah. I'll never forget how much fun we had together as we set up each scene, and the precious memories made in the creation of this book.
